The mission of Southern Financial Partners (SFP) is to revitalize struggling rural communities in the Delta region by promoting comprehensive development—restarting the local economy, rebuilding the civic infrastructure, fostering the emergence of new leadership, addressing health care needs, creating new homeownership and affordable housing opportunities, and supporting quality educational opportunities for residents of all ages. SFP accomplishes this mission by encouraging and enabling citizens to take the lead in turning their communities around. When residents have developed a strategic plan, the residents take the lead in implementing the plan. SFP backs up these citizen-led efforts with an array of services, including development lending, technical assistance, and connecting projects to outside resources.
